Birdwatching

Dumfries and Galloway is of keen interest to ornithologists, where both coastal and inland birds can be seen. Caerlaverock, Mersehead and Ken/Dee nature reserves playing host to both static and migratory birds. Red Kite were re-introduced to the area and buzzards and Osprey have recolonised here in the past few years.
